Prom 2011

This year’s theme is “Candy Land”
This year’s Prom will be held on April 16th at the Anderson Civic Center, it starts at 7:30 and ends at 11:30. Prom tickets will be sold starting March 3rd – April 1st. Cost is $20 per ticket.
Gentlemen:
• Collard Shirt and tie must be worn.
• Shirts must have sleeves.
• Dress pant or slacks; NO jeans!
• No caps/hats of any kind, bandanas, chains, or canes.
• No tennis shoes

Ladies:
• Dress/skirts must be at least mid- thigh in length.
• Slits no higher than mid-thigh in length.
• Backless to waist is permitted—below waist is not permitted.
• No garters or other exposed lingerie/undergarments.
• No sheer/see-through dresses & no see-through sides/bare sides.
• No excessively low cut dresses or tops, or short skirts.
• No excessively bare midriffs.
If your attire doesn’t meet these standards, you will not be allowed to enter the prom until you comply.

How old were you when you started playing Baseball?
I was 8 years old when I started playing on an organized baseball team.

Why did you start playing?
I started playing baseball because I watched a lot of games on TV and I thought it would be a lot of fun.

What do you like most about playing?
I like the challenge of playing baseball because there is so many areas and skills you can improve at.

What is it like playing for BHP?
Playing for BHP is exciting because we are known to have an outstanding program and good facilities.

What position do you play?
I play right field and I also pitch.

What do your parents think about you playing?
My parents are very supportive in me playing baseball. They also attend many of the games.

Whats the most interesting thing about yourself?
The most interesting things about myself is that I am outgoing and very athletic.

What is your talents or hobbies besides Baseball?
I like the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Also helping other people.

What is something you want to complete in your life time?
In my life time I want to become very successful in my career and be known as a good person.

What is the most important thing to you?
The most important thing to me is my religion because God has given me everything today, and will give me everything in my future.

Who is most important to you?
My dad is the most important person to me because he has always supported me and has strived for me to be better.

What kind of music do you like?
My favorite music is country, but it is according to what type of mood I am in.

In ten years, where do you see yourself?
In ten years I see myself happily married, living a successful life.

Dr. Smith

After asking several students from BHP the journalism concluded that Dr. Smith was very well liked. He was at BHP for a total of thirty-three years. He really enjoyed what he did at school. When he first began teaching at BHP, he was a math teacher. He helped the students learn and shape their futures. As his image grew over the years, he went from teacher to administrator, helping to change the lives of students. He was a very funny, well-spirited, influential role model. He worked very hard to help the education of the students. Although Dr. Smith is no longer with us, he will always be apart of the BHP family.

New Cell Phone Policy

Everyone knows about BHP’s old phone policy. However some don’t, so Freshmen listen up! With the old phone policy, if you were caught with a cell phone it was taken for the nine weeks and you were given a day of I.S.S. The day that you were scheduled to get it back, you were to go to the office at 3:15 and get it back yourself. The new policy this year is a bit different but better for students.

*First offense: Your cell phone will be taken and only a parent or guardian can get it back, but the good thing is that it can be the same day and no I.S.S
*Second offense: Your cell phone is kept for nine weeks and again, only a parent or guardian can pick it up. With both first and second offenses, your parent or guardian must sign a cellphone contract stating that they understand the phone policy.
*Third offense: Phone is kept for the remainder of the year. Parent or guardian has to pick it up on the final day of school or you don’t get it back.
In the event that a parent refuses to sign the cell phone contract, the above will still apply. So students, text at your own risk because now you know the consequences.

Senior Reminsce

As the year comes to an end, seniors have many things to look back on. I recently sat down with Jacob Chapman, Jacob Tavernier, and Nino Woolridge in an interview to reminisce on the past four years. Unfortunately the video did not work. As a whole these boys do not have any regrets. They are proud because they got to be a part of being region champs in baseball and making it to the 2nd round of playoffs in football. Jacob Chapman will go to college and not play any sports. Jacob Tavernier will be playing baseball and Nino will be playing football. After college Jacob Chapman will pursue his career while Jacob Tavernier will attend law school and Nino hopes to get into the NFL draft. Some words of wisdom from these boys to uprising athletes is to work hard, listen to your coaches, and always give it everything you’ve got! Thank you so much for your time guys!!!

Prom 2010 The After Effect

On April 24^th 2010, BHP held their Junior-Senior prom at the Anderson Civic Center. There were beautiful dresses and snazzy tuxes; masks were passed out to go with the extravagant masquerade theme. The prom committee really got the party started. We’d like to give a special thanks to all the prom committee staff and teachers that made it all possible.

This week is a big week for BHP. Juniors and seniors are getting ready for the prom this Saturday. Everyone that wants to go has gotten their tickets, and is ready for some fun. And yes we all know that for us, the Junior-Senior Prom is a time for us all to get dressed in our best and bust some moves on the dance floor. So one last time, get ready for some fun because seniors know this is their last BHP Prom. Also as a reminder, we all want to let lose, but drinking this weekend won’t make it any better, drive safe and be safe.
