Hollywood Nights!

Do you have a Hollywood talent? Do you perform better than the celebs? Come out and show it at the 2010 Talent Show! Held on March 30^th, be there at 6:30 sharp! To participate all you have to do is pay a small $5 entry fee, but be sure to pay by March 23^rd. Show up on March 29^th and practice, practice, practice at Rehearsals! Come on out and show all of BHP your talent on Hollywood Night!

Apple iPad

After nearly a year of speculation apple has finally released information on its new product the iPad, many were hoping for the first Apple tablet computer. Sadly many were disappointed. The iPad is basically just a big iPod touch.

We were expecting something to run Snow Leopard (Apple’s newest operating system). The iPad runs the basic iPhone software though, with some minor alterations to the E-Mail and Safari apps.

The iPad also lacks a camera. Come on Apple it is 2010 even phones have at least one camera if not two.

There will be two models a Wi-Fi and a 3G Version. The 3G iPad will most likely run on AT&T’s data plan. Unlimited data is$29.99 a month. A 250MB plan, will be available for half that at $14.99 a month.

App wise the iPad can run anything for the iPhone and some developers can make apps for it that will take advantage of the iPad’s large 9.7 inch screen.

Saints Win the 2010 Super Bowl

It’s the biggest game of the year. People go the whole year with out watching a single football game, but when the Super bowl comes around everyone seems to become a die hard fan of the NFL. This past Sunday, February 7, The NFL’s two best teams squared off in an epic battle to the end. The Saints came into this game with one goal in mind. That goal was to bring hope to the city of New Orleans. With the hearts of America on their side, the Saints pulled off a historic victory against the Indianapolis Colts. Once down 10-0 in the first quarter the Saints never gave up hope and kept fighting for their city. After the final whistle blew the Saints had a prevailing victory of 31-17. The Saints may have been the underdog in this game but some say that they may have had destiny on their side. With a flawless game Saints’ Quarterback, Drew Brees brought a Super bowl Title to his team and also took home the MVP award. No matter who you were pulling for this past Sunday their has to be some sense of happiness for the Saints and the city of New Orleans for overcoming the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

Powderpuff

On the night of January 28, 2010 the Anual Powderpuff football game took place. The game started at 6pm and ended a little after 7pm. In this Senior vs. Juniors event, Seniors won 18 to 0. The JV football players substituded as the cheerleaders for the evening. Drew Greer was crowned the PowderPuff Queen of 2010. Afterwards student council held a car bash/bonfire complete with roasted marshmellows. Students took turns bashing the car with sledge hammers and eventually the car was flipped over. It was a sight to see.

MISS BHP 2010

Miss BHP pageant was held Saturday January 23, 2010 in the BHP auditorium. This was a great event; there were nine girls who competed in the Miss BHP pageant.

The nine girls who were in were Jillacee Cleveland, Tessa Magaha, Hannah Timms, Kate Friddle, Lauren Brown, Lauren Boggs, Meshe Sullivan, Latoya Anderson, and Meggy Campbell. Tessa Magaha won most photogenic and non-finalist talent. Hannah Timms was second runner up. Meshe won Miss Congeniality and was first runner up. Our Miss BHP for 2010 is Kate Friddle……Congrats Kate!!!

Coach Green Resigns from BHP

Coach Wayne Green has recently announced that he is resigning as head coach and athletic director at BHP to pursue future prospects. He believes God is leading him in life and now feels he needs to go to Senneca to coach. Coach Green has had a very successful career while at BHP. In 2004 he lead the bears through an undefeated season and later the State Championships. He has multiple regional championships under his belt. Senneca will be very lucky to have a great coach like him.

We will miss you Coach Green. Good luck!

The Miss BHP Pageant will be held Saturday, January the 23rd. This pageant is for senior girls only. It will be in the audtitorium at 7:00 P.M. Tickets will be $5.00.

Winterfest Week

Here it is again guys and gals. Winterfest week! Monday will be college day so pull out those t-shirts/jerseys! Tuesday will be nerd day. Don’t forget your suspenders! On Wednesday you will dress like your favorite celebrity. Thursday is your class color day. Seniors will wear green, juniors will wear blue, sophomores will wear yellow, and freshmen will wear black. Teachers will wear don’t forget to wear red! Friday is when you wear your winterfest t-shirt. If you haven’t bought one yet no worries! Winterfest t-shirts are sold everyday A-day lunches or you could see Mrs. Stevens. Short sleeve is $12 and long sleeve is $14. Hurry up! Last day to buy t-shirts I s Friday, January 15

Powder-puff 2010

The powder-puff game is on Thursday, January 28^th at 6:00pm. Admission is $3.00 which is at steal considering all that there is to offer.

Powder-puff is an annual event BHP hosts where girls play the football game while sophomore football players play the part as cheerleaders. Senior and junior varsity will be the coaches this year. There will be hot chocolate and tasty treats served during powder-puff.

This year there will also be a powder-puff queen. Students will vote during lunch for their sophomore football player to win the title of powder-puff queen. One vote costs one penny but higher currency will cancel out a hopefuls vote.

After the powder-puff game, join us for a bonfire and a car bashing. But be sure to dress warm for the cold weather!
