Twitter: The New Social Networking

Tweet Tweet. What do you think of when you hear those words? A lot of people think of birds chirping but ask any celebrity or social networking fanatic and you will get a different answer. Twitter, the new social networking site that is taking the world by storm one “Tweet” at a time. Twitter is a new social networking site where people can interact with each other by sending small 140 character messages (named “tweets”) to friends, family, or anyone that is “following” them. Celebrities have been taking advantage of this and use it as a new way to connect and interact with their fans. Some celebs like Ashton Kucher and Ellen DeGennerous have used this to connect with fans. Fans love being able to connect with them when asked “What’s your favorite thing about Twitter?” Keenan Stroup answered, “I like seeing what celebrities are doing.”
Twitter is so versatile because you can update it almost anywhere. If you have a mobile phone you can update Twitter. You can update online, send text message updates, or some mobile phones like the iPhone and Blackberry have Twitter applications.
